Shirime
Buttocks Eye

Shirime is a descriptive name sometimes given to a monster appearing in a yōkai picture scroll painted by haiku poet Yosa Buson between 1754 and 1757. One of eight strange creatures depicted therein in simple haiga style, it has the following brief description:

The nuppori-bōzu monster of Katabira crossroads in the capital. It has no facial features, and one eye, which is in its anus, and its shining is like lightning.
